Why You Need a Double Sleeping Bag

If you enjoy travelling or camping with your partner or you just want a handy spare bedding option for extra house guests, then you should consider buying a double sleeping bag. There’s no need to sleep separate from your loved one if you usually sleep together at home and double sleeping bags are a lot cozier and more luxurious than their single equivalents. Everyone should have one in their home and to take away on weekend trips.

When choosing your sleeping bag you need to think about where you will be mostly using it. If you just want spare bedding for at home or you will be using it on camping trips or other vacations where it will be carried by car, weight and size is not so much of an issue and you can just choose the most comfortable version for your price range.

If on the other hand you are backpacking or will be carrying the sleeping bag with you, you will want to make sure it is as light as possible and packs down small. Down sleeping bags are great for this as they are very warm but can be squeezed into a stuff sack and take up only a small amount of space. They are more expensive than other versions but definitely worth it if you do a lot of backpacking.

As well as your sleeping bag, you will want to buy a liner to go inside it. A sleeping bag liner will provide an extra layer of warmth and protect your sleeping bag from dirt so that you need only wash the liner instead of the whole sleeping bag. You can buy various types but a silk sleeping bag liner is the most luxurious, feels great in both hot and cold weather, dries quickly and is very small and light to pack.
