Being outdoors and camping holiday can mean inconvenience. Aside from the fact that you will need to stay and sleep in a tent in the middle of nowhere, you will miss a lot of amenities and conveniences that you will normally enjoy at home. One of the most bothersome and scary things that you might experience while camping is having nowhere to pee or poop. Of course camping sites have their toilet facilities available to all campers, but that’s the point, it is available to ALL! You can just imagine how untidy and poorly maintained the toilets are. Well, to avoid this, you had better bring your own camping toilet. This does not mean, though, that you will be perfectly clean, but at least you have a toilet that nobody else would use.
Portable camping toilets make it possible for every camper to avoid using dirty and intolerable toilet seats that may even expose us to harmful bacteria. Aside from cleanliness and hygiene, having your own portable camping toilet will also eliminate the need for you to go to the toilet facility in the middle of the night. This is something that many campers really hate. There is, of course, always a danger if you go somewhere in the middle of the night alone.
If you try to look around for camping toilets, you will see the two types available; the simple one and the complex type. The simple or standard portable toilets are basically made of a light metal frame that has a seat with a hole in the middle. You can just imagine a foldable chair with a hole on it. When using this type of camping toilet, you would need a bag or any container that can catch the feces. The problem with this kind of portable toilet is that it uses a plastic bag that is non biodegradable, hence not nature friendly. The advantage, however, is that it is very affordable.
Meanwhile, you may also consider having the more complex and much bulkier camping toilet. This type is better in terms of its usability. You can use them several times before you have to empty them as they come with a huge waste storage tank. The better models of this can even have a tank for water storage that will allow you to flush the poop just like how you would in your house. However, these types of camping toilets are rather bulky, heavy, and therefore not very portable. These are ideal for people who wouldn’t want to constantly change the plastic bag of their camping toilet.
Keep in mind also that when using a portable toilet, you should always bring any sort of liquid or powder chemicals that will neutralize and liquefy the waste. Remember to choose the ones that are environment friendly.
Needless to say, a camping toilet can be a very significant equipment that you need when going on a camping holiday. They may cost you some dollars, but I’m sure that you don’t mind spending some money for hygiene, comfort and convenience.
