Camping for your fishing vacation

When you think of a fishing vacation you probably think of a luxury fishing lodge or mothership with a private chef to cater to your every need. However, in reality most people don’t have the budget to plan such a luxurious fishing trip. Most anglers pack their tackle, camping equipment and a tent and head off to their chosen destination without any creature comforts at all. Preparing for a camping trip
To prepare for a camping trip where fishing is involved isn’t much different that a normal trip. You will need all of the regular camping items as well as all the fishing tackle that your require. Most people advise taking one fishing rod per person. However, it is a good idea to take a cheap bass or trout fishing rod as a spare in case your best rod gets damaged or lost. You will also need to be prepared to clean to catch if you don’t plan on catch and release fishing. It is important to be well prepared and to carry extra food and water if you are traveling off road.

For this type of vacation most people don’t travel very far from home. In fact, the waterway closest to home will probably be as far as most people go. The best part about camping like this is that you generally have a section of the river to yourself. However, some people still prefer the community of a campground by the lake!
